Description

A conceptual relative of the Nanopenguins ([link] [link]), approaching the same basic idea from a slightly different angle. Here, the organisms of Earth's biosphere have been transformed at the molecular level by a nanotech singularity but still retain basal default forms corresponding more or less to original species phenotypes. Most animals do, however, possess limited polymorphic capabilities, allowing them modify their bodies at will within certain parameters. More radical transformations are also possible, occasionally resulting in composite entities. Here, several polar bears have temporarily merged for purposes of bulk insulation and stamina while they migrate across open water to richer feeding grounds. Once the journey is complete, the individual bears will split off from the "pack" and go their separate ways. Other social polar animals such as walruses and penguins may very well merge for similar reasons (protection, insulation, and sharing of resources) any time they are grouped in close physical proximity and at rest.

Again, another contrast-y, subpar drawing, but I want to give the idea some exposure and hopefully generate discussion. I'll scrap it in a day or two (for real, this time).

Would pretty please when you have the time do some more creatures like this one? I'm a fan of merging, be it animals or humans (I know I'm sort of strange). This is completely perfect for me. And again, this is awesome!!!! Remember my question
