Fast-moving predatory bipeds descended from turtles, or turtle-like reptilian ancestors. I pictured the smaller ones being mesothermic bordering on homeothermic, and actively hunting in packs, while the larger ones are lumbering, amphibious monstrosities that employ aquatic ambush hunting tactics. In the "Dynasaur" scenario, therizinosaurs would very likely fall into this clade.
Look out, mah, it's the terrorpins!
I love the legs on that guy in the upper right and the hands on the lower left.
Hey, what if the shell served as an anchor for interior muscles (perhaps over the hips, evolving into an exoskeleton?
WHOAAA, what a cool idea! Could lead to some very alien limb architectures emergent from the terrestrapod holotype...Almost an exact inversion of the para-vertebrate faux crabs, in fact.
i know someone below said it before, but these would definitely be a good model for a realistic Bowser or other form of Koopa, rather than just big walking turtles, cus these guys have the right type of claws i envision whenever i draw a realistic Bowser
Turtle raptors is an amazing idea. I like the top right guy the most, but I like the head best on the dude in the middle.
Thanks very much! By all means, please feel free to mix and match heads with bodies for the best fit.
When I was between 8 and 10 for some reason I became very interested in those early 20th century depictions of dinosaurs and those crappy stop motion films, so this gave me a strange feeling of nostalgia
Haha, thanks! I know exactly what you're talking about, so I'm glad I could "push those buttons" for ya.
A pathway to sentience, perhaps?
very nice designs.
At least one of these needs to have "koopa" in its binomial name
Funny how the turtle's ancestors were giant shell-less herbivores. I'd almost think that they'd take the giant's route again in the future. Great concept regardless.
