I absolutely adore these things! Some years I see them all over the place, other years not at all, but they always strike me as readymade aliens cut from the Barlowe mold. Or how about insectile pterosaurs, or tiltrotor biomecha? Or Pharaonic quasi-/posthumans, or stylized funerary depictions thereof, adorned in gold, alabaster, and faience...?
