Description

I'm pretty disappointed with the way this one came out, but I tweaked and experimented and Photoshopped and finally decided to start over and my tube of Viridian split in half when I tried to twist the cap off, so what you see is what you get for the moment.

This is (kind of) the answer to the frequently asked question "Why don't you do a leafy sea dragon ichthyocampid?" (No, I'm serious, people ask me that no matter where I go.) I had all along, in fact, planned to do a leafy sea dragon analog, but I wanted to do it as a plesiosaur rather than an ichthyosaur, and I wanted to keep the general plesiosaur body shape. Over time the image evolved in my own mind into something more like a wobbegong shark, but retaining some of the "leafiness" of the sea dragon. This guy was the result.

I won't turn this into a big Plesiogong-bashing fest and enumerate everything wrong with this one, but the bottom line is there may be a better version somewhere down the road. In the meantime, I pray forgiveness from the salty gods of alternative prehistoric marine life.

On a more positive note, this is my one-hundredth deviation! Woo-hoo!

Nah, I think it looks great. It looks like something that would rest on the seafloor - for all we know, some plesiosaurs may have looked like that (no fleshy bits preserved, see).

Congratulations on your 100th deviation! :iconcakeplz:
