Description
Intoxicated gesture drawing that quickly converged on a dream image: a posthuman "biosuit" with which a more conventional human operator could interface and control as an extension of his/her own nervous system--a secondary body you put on and "wear." The original dream environment was more of a vast, towering megastructure of monolithic architecture suspended in an airless void, making the posthuman construct more of a "space suit." Here I've depicted it in a stereotypical "hostile Martian desert" kinda landscape. 'Cuz I can't draw feet. : p In the dream the "suit" was bigger, and matte grey, and had a more bulbous cockpit canopy....But, you know, whatevah. Close enough.
My subconscious imagination must surely have been influenced by the creepy biomounts depicted in Ralph McQuarrie's cover art for Donald Moffitt's Second Genesis:
